Expressions of interest (EOIs) are officially open for the NSW’s Government’s Community Building Partnership (CBP) grants program, with $450,000 available for the Charlestown electorate.
The $41 million program ensures local organisations and councils across the state have the facilities to support more vibrant and inclusive communities.
Not-for-profit community organisations and local councils are invited to complete an EOI for grants between $10,000 and $100,000 to bring local projects to life.
In the Charlestown electorate, we are looking for projects that will help us to uplift local infrastructure, including:
- Accessibility upgrades to improve safety, mobility and inclusion.
- Community infrastructure supporting multicultural groups, youth, families and gathering spaces.
- Sporting and recreation upgrades promoting active, healthy lifestyles.
- Equipment and facilities for youth programs and development.
- Health and safety projects like defibrillators and sun protection.
- Improvements to community halls, clubhouses and shared spaces.
- Upgrades to places of worship and culturally significant sites.
Previous projects funded in the Charlestown electorate include $80,000 to upgrade the main playground at Charlestown South Public School, and $45,000 to update Charlestown & District Meal on Wheels’ solar panel system.
This year, the 2026 CBP grants round will use a two-stage application process, beginning with an expression of interest.
Interested organisations and councils are encouraged to apply before EOIs close at 5pm on Friday, 8 May.
Shortlisted EOIs will be contacted by the end of June 2026, with successful grants to be awarded in early 2027.

Quotes attributable to the Hon Jodie Harrison MP, Member for Charlestown:
“Our local area is a diverse and growing community, with a mix of young families, older residents, and a multicultural population. As our community evolves, we want to make sure everyone has fair access to safe, modern, and inclusive facilities.
“With $450,000 available across the Charlestown electorate the Community Building Partnership grant program can help fund meaningful local projects, including refurbishing sports grounds and clubhouses, making community halls more accessible, and improving our public spaces.
“I encourage not-for-profit community organisations with an idea to improve their community infrastructure to submit an expression of interest before 8 May.”
