Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)—Although recent rains had left the ground too wet for any cricket to be played on Sunday, 19 January, it was my absolute pleasure to join a local community sporting mainstay, the Charlestown District Cricket Club, for their NRMA Community Cricket Day. The day was in celebration of Charlestown District Cricket Club being the successful recipient of a 2024 NRMA Community Cricket Club Grant. The grant will help the club to support a team of young cricketers, who are refugees from Afghanistan. My thanks to club president Chris Oliver and secretary Andrew Standing on their leadership, and my congratulations to them for successfully securing this grant. I am so glad that this funding will help new members of our Charlestown electorate family find and build community moving forward. Well done, Charlestown District Cricket Club. Your support of the community over more than fifty years is truly inspiring.
