Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)—Consistency, dedication and passion are the hallmarks of any great athlete, and Daniel Chillingworth has continued to demonstrate all three through his outstanding achievements in local cricket. Daniel was recently crowned Men's Player of the Year for the 2025–2026 season, with the announcement made at the Newcastle District Cricket Association's annual grand-final luncheon at Club Charlestown. This remarkable achievement cements his place among the region's cricketing greats, with Daniel becoming only the second player in NDCA history to receive the prestigious honour three years in a row. His success reflects not only exceptional talent on the field, but also the hard work and commitment required to perform consistently at such a high level. Daniel has previously represented the region in the T20 Summer Bash and has also played for Newcastle at the NSW Country Championships, proudly showcasing local sporting talent on larger stages. Achievements like these are a source of pride for the wider community and highlight the strength of cricket across our region. Congratulations to Daniel Chillingworth on this well-deserved recognition, and I wish him all the very best as he continues pursuing his love for the game and contributing to local sport.
