Eleebana Public School

21 October 2025

Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)—I'd like to recognise Eleebana Public School for having their collaborative artwork Harmony in Flight shortlisted for the Department of Education 2026 Calendar for Cultural Diversity. Created by the school's talented Year 3 to 6 students, the piece beautifully features a kookaburra as a symbol of harmony and connection, reflecting this year's theme, Towards Peace. The artwork showcases the creativity, teamwork and cultural awareness of the young artists who contributed to its design. The Calendar for Cultural Diversity celebrates the rich cultural and linguistic diversity of our public schools, highlighting events and observances that promote understanding, respect and inclusion. Each year, schools across New South Wales are invited to submit artwork inspired by the calendar's theme, with selected pieces representing students' artistic talent and appreciation for the many cultures that shape our communities. It is wonderful to see Eleebana Public School's commitment to fostering inclusion and cultural understanding recognised at a state level. The entire school community should be proud of this achievement and the message of harmony and connection captured in Harmony in Flight.
