Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)— On Friday 30 May the Evolve Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub officially opened its doors to the community, offering a safe and welcoming space for those in need of mental health support. Located in Charlestown, the hub is operated by the Lake Macquarie and Newcastle Suicide Prevention Network. It is open five days a week. The Evolve hub has been shaped by years of community feedback and clinical insight. It brings together a team of health professionals, including psychologists, counsellors and wellbeing practitioners, all working to support those experiencing mental distress or facing life challenges such as relationship breakdown, unemployment or substance abuse. Importantly, the hub provides a community‑based and community‑led approach, giving people a safe space to seek advice, access therapeutic services and build strategies for long-term wellbeing. This is a meaningful and much‑needed service for the people of Charlestown and surrounding areas. I sincerely thank the Lake Macquarie and Newcastle Suicide Prevention Network and all involved in the hub for their compassion, dedication and commitment to community mental health.
