Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation

Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)—The Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation has been recognised as the 2025 Business Hunter Award recipient for Outstanding Community Organisation, proudly sponsored by BHP. Since its founding in 1999, the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation [HBCF] has provided essential, practical support to local residents navigating a breast cancer diagnosis. The organisation offers transport to treatment, cleaning and lawn care services, wigs and headwear, comfort items, and survivorship programs, all completely free of charge. Entirely locally funded, HBCF's small and dedicated team, supported by their ever‑growing Pink Army of volunteers, work tirelessly to ensure that no one in the Hunter faces breast cancer alone. Every dollar raised stays right here in our community, providing vital assistance to Hunter families when they need it most. This well-deserved recognition highlights HBCF's extraordinary impact and the compassion that underpins their work. For more than two decades, they have brought hope, dignity, and care to countless local residents. Congratulations to the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation on this achievement and for their continued commitment to making a difference in the lives of Hunter families affected by breast cancer. Their dedication is a true reflection of the strength and generosity of our region.
