Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault) (16:08): I am always blown away by the extraordinary generosity of the Charlestown community. Last year when I put out a call for donations to Share the Dignity's It's in the Bag drive, the response from my electorate was absolutely incredible. It's in the Bag involves putting together a bag of essentials including hygiene products such as shampoo, soap, toothpaste and period products, as well as optional luxury items, and donating it to Share the Dignity, which passes them on to women in need. The aim was to collect 85,000 bags to ensure at least that many vulnerable women and girls could receive a gift of love and hope at Christmas. Over the course of the drive, it was truly wonderful to see so many of my constituents do their part to reach that goal. I had the pleasure of dropping off the last few donations to Bennetts Green Bunnings just in time for the last day of collection on 1 December 2024. I thank everyone who dropped off donations to my office, including the fantastic Lake Macquarie Family Day Care team, who donated 50 bags.
