Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)—Congratulations to Whitebridge's Jemma Pollard on proudly representing Australia after earning selection in her first Commonwealth Games team at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Jemma's journey to the international stage began at Kotara South Little Athletics, where a passion for athletics developed into an elite sporting career. Her selection for the Australian team is a testament to years of hard work, perseverance and determination, made even more remarkable by her inspiring return from injury. Competing on the Commonwealth Games stage is an achievement few athletes attain, and Jemma represented Australia with immense pride, courage and professionalism. Although the mixed 4×400‑metre relay did not conclude as hoped, her determination to get back on her feet and cross the finish line after an unfortunate fall demonstrated the resilience, sportsmanship and character that have become hallmarks of her career. Jemma's achievements are inspiration to young athletes pursuing their own sporting dreams. Her success also reflects the encouragement and dedication of the coaches, teammates, family and supporters who have been part of her journey.
