Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)—On Saturday 24 May, Kotara High School hosted its annual GEM Market under clear blue skies, a lucky break in an otherwise rainy week. The market featured over 30 stalls, with a wide variety of offerings from local stallholders including handmade jewellery, second-hand goods, books, homemade crafts and cupcakes. The atmosphere was lively, with face painting for the kids and plenty of delicious food options thanks to visiting food trucks and a sausage sizzle run by the school's Year 12 students. Events like the GEM Market play an important role in strengthening local connections, showcasing creativity and giving students, families and community members the chance to come together in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Thank you to Kotara High School for hosting this vibrant event and to everyone who contributed their time, goods and energy to make it happen. It is community-led initiatives like this that help build lasting relationships and support the growth of local talent and enterprise.
