Lake Mac Awards Community Nominees

20 March 2025

Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)—The Lake Mac Awards celebrate the best and brightest of the Lake Macquarie City community, and I am pleased to report that many of the 2025 nominees are local to the Charlestown electorate. It is so inspirational to learn about the incredible achievements of the nominees across all thirteen categories, especially the Charlestown electorate-based nominees in the community categories: Community Event of the Year and Community Group of the Year. Held on Sunday 8 September 2024 at Croudace Bay Park in Eleebana, the Orange Ride 4 Child Protection Awareness was an initiative of Hearts and Hands and aimed to raise awareness of and funds for the fight against child abuse. With another ride around Lake Macquarie planned for later this year, it is great to see the 2024 Ride nominated for Community Event of the Year. Charlestown-based Healing Path to Wellness has been nominated for Community Group of the Year. A Health Promotion Charity, Healing Path to Wellness works to alleviate the symptoms of those living with mental ill-health, emotional distress, trauma and more. My congratulations to the nominees and I wish them all the best!

A Community Recognition Notice is an opportunity for an MP to submit a short statement praising the work of an individual or group in the local community. If you have any ideas about people I can recognise with a Community Recognition Notice, please email and let me know!
