Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)—It was my honour to name Liz Day Charlestown's Local Woman of the Year in recognition of her outstanding volunteer work for local sport. Liz been involved with Central Newcastle Rugby League Football Club in a range of official roles for years, while her unofficial commitments run just as deeply. She is involved in organising community outreach events, such as last year's Outdoor Movie Night for Christmas, and serves as secretary, sponsor liaison, gear steward, and manager to the Ladies League Tag team. Liz's service to the community, to Central Rugby League Football Club, and the Ladies League Tag team, proves that her dedication and commitment is second to none. I have experienced and witnessed Liz and her multiple volunteer hats in action many, many times over the last few years, and am continually impressed by her passion and desire to improve this already amazing community of a club. Liz truly embodies the club motto, For the Family—she has given her time, energy, and heart to Central Newcastle Rugby League Football Club in so many ways. Her dedication to the club and the wider community is inspiring, and this recognition is so well deserved.
