Narelle Kidner

Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)—Not even the rain could dampen the spirit of this year's Newcastle Mother's Day Classic, where more than a thousand people came together in pink and teal to walk or run in support of breast and ovarian cancer research. A huge part of what made the day so special was the work of committee member Narelle Kidner, whose passion and commitment helped bring the event to life. While the final fundraising total is still being tallied, it's expected to surpass $70,000—an incredible achievement. But as Narelle shared, the real heart of the event lies in the community it builds and the conversations it starts. The Mother's Day Classic is about more than just raising money. It's about honouring those affected by breast and ovarian cancer, bringing people together, and making a real impact—and Narelle helped make that possible. Her involvement and dedication behind the scenes played a key role in ensuring the event ran smoothly and left a lasting impression on all who took part. Thank you, Narelle, for everything you've done to support this cause and bring our community together. Your efforts are truly appreciated.
