Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)—I would like to recognise Nate Kimber, a Year 11 student from Cardiff High School, for his outstanding achievement at the 2025 Australian Science and Engineering Fair. Nate was the youngest competitor and the only public school student among the top 12 finalists, an incredible accomplishment in a national competition that attracts some of the country's most talented young innovators. Nate placed second in his category and 11th overall, demonstrating exceptional skill, creativity and dedication. Working entirely in his own time, Nate designed, built and programmed a robotic device aimed at supporting assisted living. His project explored the idea that machine learning should be simple, adaptable and accessible. The robot he developed is capable of learning tasks by observing a human perform them and then repeating those tasks independently, without the need for complex programming. Nate's project reflects not only impressive technical ability but also a thoughtful approach to how technology can improve people's lives. His achievement highlights the incredible talent emerging from our local public schools. I congratulate Nate on this remarkable success and look forward to seeing what he accomplishes in the future.
