Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)—I'm very pleased to be able to congratulate all players, officials and supporters of the Newcastle Northstars Ice Hockey Club who have recently just finished another very successful year of competition. The Northstars have really gone from strength to strength over recent years and I'm proud that their base is in the Charlestown electorate. Congratulations to the under seventeens team who came fourth in their competition, the senior four team, who also finished fourth in theirs, the senior three team who came second in their division, and finally, I'm very proud to report that the senior two team are the New South Wales Champions for 2024, which is just an outstanding achievement. Sporting clubs are such an important part of our communities, and who we are as Australians, and whilst I regularly acknowledge the achievements of soccer, netball, cricket and rugby league clubs in Charlestown, it's a particular pleasure to be able to congratulate and send my best wishes to the mighty Northstars, in this brilliant game many associate more with Canada and the United States, but which has a very growing presence in Australia.
