Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)—I'd like to acknowledge Shane Whitford for his thoughtful and generous initiative in support of the Calvary Mater Newcastle oncology nurses. Beginning in June, Shane will run 200 kilometres over the course of the month to raise funds for the nursing team who cared for him during his cancer treatment. His aim is to give back to those who brought comfort and compassion to patients during long and often difficult days. Nurses play an important role in supporting patients through both the emotional and physical challenges of treatment, and Shane is determined to give something back to recognise the difference they make. His efforts shine a light on the impact of kindness, resilience and the power of community support in recovery. The challenge is also part of Shane's own rehabilitation, making this not only a fundraising effort but a personal milestone as well. This is a thoughtful and community-minded way to acknowledge the dedication of our healthcare workers, and I commend Shane for his commitment. I wish him the very best as he begins his challenge in June, and I thank him for highlighting the important work of the Calvary Mater oncology team.
