The Giving Machine

18 March 2026

Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)—I'd like to congratulate The Giving Machine initiative on the successful launch of its donation vending machines at Charlestown Square during the Christmas period. Over a 20-day campaign, the Giving Machine helped raise an incredible $45,629 in support of a range of important charities. The initiative allowed community members to make quick and meaningful donations through the vending machines, choosing causes that matter most to them. Funds raised supported several charities working both locally and across New South Wales. Statewide organisations included UNICEF, Foodbank, GIVIT and CareFlight, while local charities such as Ronald McDonald House, Jenny's Place, The Sleapy's Foundation and the Mark Hughes Foundation also benefited from the community's generosity. The initiative brought people together in the spirit of compassion and giving, providing a simple and accessible way for the community to support those in need during the festive season. The success of the Giving Machines highlights the generosity of the Charlestown community and the power of innovative initiatives that make it easier for people to give back. I congratulate everyone involved in delivering this wonderful project and supporting charities that make such a difference in the lives of others.
