Toby Moloney

05 August 2025

Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)—Toby Moloney is an exceptional young person whose determination and generosity are inspiring our whole community. At just 17 years old and currently completing Year 12 at Saint Mary's Catholic College in Gateshead, Toby is preparing to run 100 kilometres non‑stop to raise funds for the Kids with Cancer Foundation. Taking place on 17 August, this extraordinary effort is the result of 16 weeks of dedicated training, with Toby running four times a week to prepare both mentally and physically. His commitment to stepping far outside his comfort zone speaks volumes about his character and his compassion for others. Toby isn't just raising money—he's making a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families going through incredibly difficult times. His determination to turn empathy into action is something we can all admire and be proud of. Toby's story reminds us that no one is too young to make a difference. I know many will be watching and cheering him on with admiration and gratitude as he takes on this huge challenge. Well done, Toby—your community is right behind you.
