Ms JODIE HARRISON (Charlestown—Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault) (18:23): I congratulate Charlestown electorate's own Torrie Lewis on making Commonwealth Games history with a sensational performance in the women's 100 metres at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. At just 21 years of age, the former St Paul's Primary School student has become Australia's fastest woman, as the first Australian woman to break the 11-second barrier in the 100 metres. In a remarkable display of speed and determination, Torrie achieved the feat twice in the same day, lowering her own national record from 11 seconds in the semifinal to an incredible 10.99 seconds in the final before going on to claim the bronze medal. Torrie's historic achievement is a source of enormous pride for the Charlestown electorate, the Hunter region, New South Wales and Australia. I congratulate her once again. We wish her every success for her exciting future.
